Roles & Responsibilities

• Scrub and assist during a broad mix of cases including Neuro, Total Joint Implants, Major Vascular, Cardiac (Hearts), General Surgery, GYN, Urology, Plastics, and some Podiatry
• Maintain sterile field and ensure instruments and implants are accounted for and ready
• Float between OR rooms as needed (expect movement across rooms except the dedicated Heart room)
• Use Cerner for charting and perioperative documentation accurately and timely
• Facilitate efficient turnover by coordinating with nursing assistants and team members
• Communicate closely with RNFAs and surgeons to support first assisting processes as appropriate
• Promote patient safety by following hospital protocols, equipment checks, and infection control procedures

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of perioperative/OR experience required
• BLS certification required
• Prior experience scrubbing across specialties listed (Neuro, Joint, Vascular, Cardiac, General, GYN, Urology, Plastics, Podiatry)
• Experience using Cerner for charting
• Willingness and ability to float between OR rooms (except Room 6)
• No first-time travelers and no duos — candidate must meet travel experience eligibility
• License to submit: Yes (candidate must meet submission/licensure requirements for assignment)

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative/OR workflow and sterile technique
• Scrubbing proficiency for a variety of specialty cases
• Familiarity with Total Joint Implant procedures and instrument sets
• Competence in Neuro, Major Vascular, and Cardiac case basics
• Cerner electronic charting experience
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and adapt to rotating schedules
• Strong communication and teamwork for fast-paced OR environments
• Efficient turnover management and equipment handling
