Shift Type: Rotating nights, 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; rotating schedule with every-other-weekend (EOW) coverage and holiday rotation (2 out of 3 major holidays); may float to Pediatrics/Postpartum as needed

Candidate Pay Rate: $77 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, family-centered nursing care for neonates from 22 weeks gestation to term in a Level 3 NICU
- Manage ventilators (including high-frequency, Draeger, NAVA, and nitric oxide) and care for high-acuity preemies
- Interpret patient monitoring from Philips systems and respond to basic arrhythmias, consulting NNP/MD as needed
- Administer and manage IV therapies and TPN with precision; collaborate closely with the IV team
- Provide couplet care in Postpartum and accept Peds/Postpartum float assignments when scheduled
- Complete required MyJourney modules prior to arrival and participate in unit orientation and training
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team (NNP, neonatologist, RT, pharmacy) to coordinate safe, timely care
- Maintain required certifications and document care accurately in Cerner and associated systems (HUGS, Breast Milk Bridge)
Qualifications
- Active RN license (able to practice in California)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (NICU experience strongly preferred)
- Required certifications: BLS (AHA), NRP, PALS
- Cerner EMR experience required (Breast Milk Bridge and HUGS familiarity a plus)
- Strong IV skills and experience with infusion pumps (Medfusion, Alaris) and TPN management
- Comfortable with ventilator management and interpreting monitor data (Philips monitors)
- Willingness to float to Pediatrics and Postpartum and provide couplet care as required
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and meet every-other-weekend staffing needs
Education
- Active RN license in California (required)
- BSN preferred but not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Neonatal resuscitation and advanced neonatal nursing care
- Interpretation of patient monitors and basic arrhythmia recognition
- Ventilator management (HFV, Draeger, NAVA, nitric oxide) and collaboration with RT
- IV therapy, infusion pumps (Medfusion/Alaris), and TPN management
- Experience in a Level 3 NICU with high-acuity preemies, sepsis, respiratory cases and neonatal withdrawal
- Charting and documentation in Cerner, plus add-ons like Breast Milk Bridge and HUGS
- Ability to provide couplet care and float safely to Pediatrics/Postpartum
