Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations with accuracy and attention to image quality
- Position patients and operate X-ray equipment safely and professionally
- Adhere to radiation safety protocols and infection control standards
- Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and clinical teams to support timely patient care
- Maintain accurate patient records, documentation, and image management in PACS
- Provide compassionate patient care and clear communication to reduce patient anxiety
- Participate in quality improvement activities and continuing education to keep skills sharp
Qualifications
- Current ARRT certification or equivalent registration preferred (or eligible)
- Illinois state radiologic technologist license or ability to obtain state licensure
- BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon start
- Clinical experience with diagnostic radiography preferred; new grads with strong clinical training considered
- Strong patient-service focus, dependable attendance, and good teamwork skills
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program (Associate degree or equivalent)
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in positioning techniques and radiographic imaging principles
- Familiarity with PACS, digital imaging systems, and basic troubleshooting
- Understanding of radiation safety and infection control best practices
- Good documentation skills and comfort working with electronic medical records
- Clear communication skills and the ability to put patients at ease
