Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Variable/rotating: Day 4x10 (06:30 AM - 05:00 PM) and Night 3x12 (07:00 PM - 06:30 AM); includes weekend and holiday coverage as assigned. Call required M-F 9:00 PM - 6:30 AM; weekend call blocks Sat & Sun 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 6:30 AM.

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert perioperative care and circulate during a broad variety of surgical procedures
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists and the perioperative team to ensure patient safety
- Maintain accurate patient records in EPIC and support seamless handoffs of care
- Focus on intraoperative care for Orthopedic, Neurosurgery, Spine and General Surgery cases
- Adhere to trauma protocols and support Level 1 trauma activations in an 18-bed OR
- Float to different units within the OSU organization as needed to support patient care demands
Qualifications
- Active RN licensure appropriate for practice in Ohio
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room RN experience
- Experience working in a Level 1 trauma center (preferred and valued)
- EPIC charting experience (required)
- BCLS (BLS) certification required
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Comfort circulating across a wide case mix including robotics, transplant, trauma, orthopedic and neurosurgery
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong perioperative nursing knowledge and circulating technique
- Proficiency with EPIC charting and intraoperative documentation
- Ability to manage high-acuity trauma cases and multi-discipline surgical procedures
- Familiarity with sterile technique, instrument handling and surgical equipment
- Adaptability to work variable shift lengths (8/10/12-hour shifts) and cover holidays/weekends
- Good communication, teamwork and situational awareness in fast-paced OR environments
