Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to adult and pediatric inpatients
• Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record promptly
• Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, escalating when necessary
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans to support recovery
• Contribute to unit quality improvement initiatives and a positive team environment

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska or eligibility to obtain one
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred or available upon hire
• Prior inpatient nursing experience preferred (new grads with strong clinical rotations are welcome to apply)
• Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a patient-first attitude
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Proof of immunizations or willingness to comply with facility requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles and inpatient workflows
• Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) documentation
• Skilled in patient assessment, medication administration, and IV therapy
• Good time management and the ability to prioritize multiple patient needs
• Cultural sensitivity and ability to work effectively with diverse populations
