Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care while floating between medical and surgical units
• Assess patients, create individualized care plans, implement interventions and evaluate outcomes
• Manage complex bedside equipment and therapies such as wound VACs and chest tubes
• Safely administer medications and use the Pyxis medication system
• Document care accurately in Meditech EMR to support continuity and safety
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and interdisciplinary team members to achieve the best patient outcomes
• Adapt quickly to different unit workflows and mentor teammates when appropriate

Qualifications

• Active State of Hawaii RN license required by the assignment start date
• Minimum 2 years of clinical RN experience (job notes indicate 2–10 years preferred)
• BLS and ACLS required
• Preferred certifications: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC
• Comfortable floating between Medical, Laulima (surgical acute) and occasional Cardiovascular units
• Professional nursing attire and ability to work 12-hour day shifts

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Medical-surgical nursing and float pool experience
• Proficiency with Meditech EMR and Pyxis medication systems
• Wound VAC management and chest tube care
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to manage multiple patients safely with changing nurse-to-patient ratios
• Excellent communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment
