Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts: Day 3x12 (07:00 AM - 07:30 PM) and Night 3x12 (07:00 PM - 07:30 AM). Schedule is 3 shifts/week as assigned; block schedules: No; weekend coverage and float to other MedSurg Oncology units as needed.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert, compassionate nursing care to adults and geriatric patients on the BMT/Oncology PCU and Med-Surg unit
- Assess and monitor patients using telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and act quickly with Rapid Response Teams when needed
- Administer and manage IV therapies, blood products, central lines/ports, and PICC lines with precision and safety
- Support patients undergoing autologous, allogeneic, and syngeneic transplants as well as CAR-T therapies
- Perform feeding tube care and manage respiratory support (nasal cannula) when required
- Document thoroughly and accurately in Epic to ensure continuity of care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams — pharmacy, PT/RT, social services, and more — to deliver holistic care
- Follow strict infection prevention and PPE protocols to protect vulnerable oncology patients
Qualifications
- Current, active RN license (eligible to practice in Ohio) — required
- Minimum 2 years clinical nursing experience; must have at least 1 year of oncology/MS specialty experience within the most recent 3 years
- Basic Life Support (BLS) — required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) — preferred
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Certification and Oncology Certified (OCN) — preferred but not required
- Experience with Epic charting — required
- Travel nursing experience and willingness to float to other MedSurg Oncology units — required
- Ability to complete a 72-hour orientation and integrate into unit workflows quickly
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Telemetry systems (GE B450 recommended familiarity)
- IV therapy, infusion pumps (Alaris) and blood/blood product administration
- Central line/port care, central line blood draws and PICC management
- Feeding tube care and respiratory support (nasal cannula)
- Isolation precautions, infection control and PPE best practices
- Strong clinical judgment, rapid response participation, and teamwork
- Comfort charting in Epic and communicating abnormal lab values effectively
