Roles & Responsibilities

• Triage incoming patients promptly and accurately to prioritize care
• Obtain patient history, take vital signs, and perform comprehensive assessments
• Initiate immediate life-saving interventions independently when needed
• Process and follow up on physician/provider orders and medication changes
• Assist physicians with procedures and perform both simple and complex nursing interventions
• Provide clear discharge and follow-up instructions to patients and families
• Answer ambulance radio and give appropriate prehospital care orders
• Collaborate with the care team to evaluate and revise treatment plans to improve outcomes
• Operate and troubleshoot sophisticated equipment while maintaining patient safety
• Deliver physical and psychological comfort to patients, families, and visitors

Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license (LARA/Nursys verification required)
• 2+ years of Emergency Room (ER) nursing experience — required
• Active American Heart Association certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS — required
• Active Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification — required
• Active Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification — required
• Travel nursing experience highly preferred
• Two supervisory reference forms from within the last two years (required)
• Current skills checklist (within 1 year) pertinent to ER nursing (required)
• Candidates must provide permanent address; facility will not consider local candidates within a 100-mile radius
