Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: 4x10 Day shifts, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (4 days/week; specific days vary). On-call: 1 night per week (on-call) and 1 weekend on-call every 5-6 weeks. Shift type: Day with on-call duties.
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $70 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert circulating support throughout perioperative procedures to keep the OR running smoothly
- Ensure patient safety by following Universal Protocol (time out) and infection control best practices
- Administer and document blood and blood products per hospital policy
- Maintain accurate charting in Epic and ensure timely specimen handling and labeling
- Perform urinary bladder catheterization and manage specimens and radiation/laser safety protocols
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and the perioperative team to anticipate needs and improve patient outcomes
- Respond to codes and emergency events as a professional team member when needed
- Float between units and facilities as needed to meet patient care demands with a positive attitude
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Oregon (state licensure required)
- Minimum 1 year of OR/perioperative nursing experience
- Experience with Epic charting system (required)
- BLS preferred and familiarity with emergency response, malignant hyperthermia procedures
- Ability to circulate confidently; scrubbing skills are helpful but not required
- Must have reliable vehicle for assignment and ability to respond to on-call within required timeframe
- Comfort floating to nearby facilities and adapting to different OR teams
Knowledge & Skills
- Perioperative care and circulating techniques
- Administration of blood and blood products
- Infection control and Universal Protocol (time out)
- Specimen handling and labeling best practices
- Radiation safety and laser safety awareness
- Familiarity with cell saver, electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources/cords, and Steris equipment
- Experience across OR specialties including ENT, general surgery, gynecology, orthopedics, plastics, podiatry, urology, and pediatric ENT
- Code response, fire safety, and malignant hyperthermia readiness
- Strong Epic documentation skills and interdisciplinary communication
