Candidate Pay Rate: $70 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage mechanical ventilation for neonatal and adult patients, including advanced modes and troubleshooting high pressure alarms
- Provide neonatal airway management and assist with intubation and extubation when indicated
- Interpret and draw arterial and umbilical blood gases to guide respiratory care decisions
- Operate and troubleshoot specialized equipment such as high frequency jet ventilators, oscillators, and Bunnell jet ventilation
- Deliver noninvasive support including CPAP, BiPAP, Bubble CPAP, and high flow nasal cannula therapy
- Perform tracheostomy care and suctioning (ETT/NT) while maintaining airway hygiene and patient comfort
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, nursing, pharmacy, and PT/OT to optimize patient outcomes
- Document care accurately in Epic and participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives
- Support high-risk deliveries and neonatal stabilization as part of the NICU team
- Float between units as needed, adapting quickly while maintaining high standards of care
Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience with required NICU Level III or IV experience and adult ICU experience
- Current BLS and ACLS preferred; NRP and PALS or ENPC preferred for neonatal/pediatric roles
- Demonstrated competence with ventilator management and neonatal respiratory equipment (high frequency jet, oscillator, pressure/volume ventilators)
- Experience with Epic or similar electronic charting systems required
- Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, float between departments, and cover every-other-weekend per contract
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Mechanical ventilation management and ventilator troubleshooting
- Neonatal airway management and direct neonatal intubation assistance
- High frequency jet ventilator and high frequency oscillator operation
- CPAP, BiPAP, Bubble CPAP, and High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) therapies
- Arterial and umbilical blood gas interpretation
- Tracheostomy care and suctioning (ETT/NT)
- Nitric Oxide (INo) administration experience
- Weaning from mechanical ventilation and high pressure alarm resolution
- Pulmonary function testing basics and spirometry familiarity
- Familiarity with Bunnell Jet Ventilation and pressure/volume ventilators
