Shift Type: Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (NOC). Schedule varies by unit; nurses may choose a 36-hour or 48-hour work week.
Hours per Week: 48
Candidate Pay Rate: $67 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor complex neuro and oncology patients with confidence and compassion
- Administer chemotherapy and manage associated care safely and accurately
- Manage IV pumps and PCA pumps while ensuring medication and infusion safety
- Support and assist with bone marrow biopsy procedures and continuous EEG monitoring
- Provide skilled post-op neuro nursing for craniotomy, laminectomy, and shunt patients
- Manage acute events including seizures, mental status changes, and stroke care
- Deliver palliative and end-of-life care with sensitivity and clear communication
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient-focused care plans
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and symptom management
- Float to other MS areas and accept up to 8 patients when census requires
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (able to practice in Missouri or eligible for state licensure)
- Experience in oncology and/or neuroscience nursing preferred
- Chemotherapy administration experience or competency in chemo safety
- Comfort and skill with IV pump and PCA pump management
- Experience with EEG monitoring and assisting with bone marrow biopsy is a plus
- Ability to manage high-acuity patients, including seizure and stroke care
- Willingness to work night shifts and float between MS areas
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
Knowledge & Skills
- Oncology nursing principles and chemotherapy-related symptom management
- Neuroscience nursing care including post-op neuro monitoring
- IV therapy, infusion pump operation, and PCA pump management
- Continuous EEG monitoring basics and interpretation collaboration
- Palliative and end-of-life care approaches
- Patient assessment, medication administration, and acute care response
- Ability to prioritize and manage up to 8 patients when necessary
