Shift Type: Night shifts, 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, Every-other-weekend rotation required (nights include Fri/Sat weekend coverage). Night, EOW rotation, 36 hours/week guaranteed

Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor telemetry patients continuously and interpret cardiac rhythms accurately using Phillips monitors
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered care for a diverse telemetry population including post-pacer, dialysis, new-onset AFib/RVR, stroke and high-acuity patients
- Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists and the 24/7 RT and Pharmacy teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Cerner and communicate changes in condition to the care team
- Respond promptly to call/standby notifications (must report within 30 minutes when placed on call)
- Assess, initiate and manage interventions for sepsis, PEG tube care, wound/bedsores and other complex needs
- Float safely to MedSurg, remote tele, and occasional ICU/ER holds as the unit schedule requires
- Contribute to a safe work environment by following unit ratios, escalation pathways and infection control practices
Qualifications
- Current, active RN license (California license required for practice in Bakersfield)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (telemetry or stepdown preferred)
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythms (Phillips telemetry experience highly preferred)
- Proficiency with Cerner charting
- Comfort with CPAP/BiPAP patient management in collaboration with RT
- Ability to float between related units and adapt to variable patient acuity
- Willingness to work nights, weekends and participate in holiday rotation
Education
- Active RN license required (BSN not required per job posting)
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and advanced cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Familiarity with Philips telemetry systems and Omnicell pharmacy workflows
- Cerner EMR documentation and clinical charting proficiency
- Hemodialysis and post-pacemaker patient care fundamentals
- Critical thinking and rapid assessment for high-acuity and stroke patients
- Strong communication and teamwork in multidisciplinary teams
- Basic ventilatory support awareness (CPAP/BiPAP) and escalation to RT
- Safe patient handling for bariatric and heavy patients
