Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum nursing care to birthing families
• Assess and monitor maternal and newborn status using evidence-based practices and fetal monitoring
• Perform newborn care and initial stabilization, collaborating closely with pediatrics when needed
• Participate in LDRP and GYN surgical care when required, supporting safe surgical outcomes
• Educate patients and families on postpartum care, newborn care and safe discharge practices
• Document clinical findings and interventions accurately in the medical record
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Respond to emergencies calmly and effectively, using ACLS, PALS and team protocols

Qualifications

• Current unencumbered Oregon RN license required upon submission
• Healthcare Provider BLS certification required
• AHA ACLS and PALS required for AGH LDRP practice
• NRP and STABLE strongly preferred
• Demonstrated skills in labor & delivery nursing, postpartum care and newborn care
• Comfort with LDRP and GYN surgical care practices

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong labor and delivery assessment skills including fetal monitoring interpretation
• Newborn assessment and initial stabilization knowledge
• Postpartum care and lactation support fundamentals
• Experience with LDRP workflows and GYN surgical assistance
• Effective communication with patients, families and interdisciplinary teams
• Accurate clinical documentation and familiarity with electronic medical records
• Calm decision-making in high-acuity or emergency situations
