Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert critical care nursing for high-acuity ICU patients, including neuro and cardiac cases
• Assess, monitor, and interpret cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic data and act promptly
• Manage ventilators and respiratory needs in partnership with RT 24/7
• Safely administer and titrate medication drips and pressors, following unit protocols
• Serve as charge nurse or resource RN when assigned, coordinating care and staff assignments
• Perform bedside and huddle reporting to ensure seamless handoffs and continuity of care
• Float to Tele and ED ICU/Tele holds as needed, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork
• Collaborate with hospitalists and intensivists to implement advanced care plans

Qualifications

• Active RN license (California) or eligibility to obtain
• Minimum 2 years of ICU/critical care nursing experience; 3 years preferred
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• CCRN strongly preferred
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac monitoring strips independently
• Comfort with ventilator management, pressors, sedation, and advanced hemodynamic care
• Strong communication skills and ability to thrive in fast-paced acute care settings

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• BSN not required for submission per posting, but ongoing education is supported

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care and ICU nursing fundamentals
• Ventilator management and respiratory support
• Cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation
• Medication drips, pressors, and advanced pharmacologic management
• Neuro critical care knowledge including ICP monitoring and TBI care
• Sepsis and stroke care protocols
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic medical records
• Team leadership and charge/resource nurse responsibilities
