Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide on-shift leadership and serve as the charge nurse when census and staffing require it
• Mentor and coach clinical staff to promote high-quality, compassionate patient care
• Round on patients to identify and address service or safety concerns promptly
• Support staff through clinical and interpersonal guidance, fostering a positive work environment
• Coordinate staffing and assignments, ensuring unit coverage and patient safety
• Act as a resource for clinical decision-making and escalate issues as appropriate
• Ensure accurate Cerner charting and support unit documentation best practices
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and unit workflows

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Must have served as Charge RN in your most recent assignment (no first-time travelers)
• Minimum 3 years of relevant nursing experience
• Current ACLS and BLS (AHA) certifications required
• NIHSS certification (AHA or APEX) required
• Experience with Telemetry and Medical-Surgical (MedSurg) care
• Travel nurse experience preferred and helpful for this contract manager role

Education

• BSN not required (ADN or diploma acceptable); demonstrated nursing experience and leadership preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong leadership and nurse management skills with on-shift decision-making
• Clinical mentoring and staff development experience
• Telemetry and MedSurg clinical knowledge
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic charting
• Excellent patient safety and quality-focus
• Ability to float across units and adapt to changing unit needs
• Clear communication, conflict resolution, and team-building skills
