Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare procedure rooms and ensure all endoscopy equipment and instruments are ready and sterile
- Assist physicians during EGD, colonoscopy and other common endoscopy procedures to ensure safe, efficient care
- Perform instrument processing, scope reprocessing and room turnover to maintain high patient throughput
- Support PEG placement, Bravo placement and dilation procedures with precise technical assistance
- Document procedures and patient details accurately in EPIC to maintain clear, thorough records
- Collaborate with nursing and surgical teams to maintain patient safety and smooth workflow
- Float between endoscopy departments as needed to provide consistent coverage and expertise
- Participate in continuing education and maintain BLS certification to keep skills current
Qualifications
- BLS Certification required
- Minimum 2 years of relevant endoscopy/clinical experience
- Proven ability to tech all basic endoscopy cases (EGD, colonoscopy, basic therapeutic assist)
- Familiarity with EPIC or similar electronic charting systems
- Comfort working in OR scrubs and following perioperative infection control practices
- Preferred: experience with endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and basic ERCP procedures
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in EGD and colonoscopy support and instrumentation
- Experience with PEG, Bravo placement and dilation procedures
- Knowledge of endoscope reprocessing and sterile technique
- Working knowledge of EPIC charting and acute care documentation
- Strong situational awareness, patient positioning and intra-procedure support
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills in fast-paced acute settings
