Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM or 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM, every other weekend, minimum 2 holidays per contract

Hours per Week: 48

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care to a diverse adult population in a 40-bed PCU with an average daily census of 24
Monitor and manage patients with cardiac, respiratory, stroke, sepsis, and renal conditions
Titrate drips including Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and insulin
Interpret cardiac telemetry strips independently
Collaborate with charge nurse and patient care techs to maintain a 1:4-5 nurse-to-patient ratio
Float to MedSurg or ICU as needed to care for PCU-acuity patients
Ensure high patient experience scores through responsiveness and clear communication

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
Competency in arterial line management
Experience with titratable drips and cardiac monitoring
Driver's license required for verification of 50-mile radius rule
Flexibility and adaptability to a fast-paced, learning-oriented environment

Knowledge & Skills

Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Proficiency in managing cardiac drips and high-flow oxygen
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Cultural sensitivity to serve Hispanic and Somalian populations
Ability to pass an open-book exam on orientation skills with 90% or higher
