Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill newborns in a Level 4 NICU
• Manage complex cases including premature infants, cardiac defects, genetic disorders, surgical neonates, and those requiring ECMO or cooling therapy
• Perform high-level skills such as central line dressing changes and Foley catheter insertion with strict sterile technique
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of neonatologists, midlevels, and respiratory therapists to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Utilize Cerner EMR to document and coordinate care efficiently
• Float to mother-baby or labor care (babies only) as needed

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of NICU experience required, Level 4 experience strongly preferred
• Valid RN license in Arizona or compact state, or ability to obtain before start
• BLS and NRP certifications required; Cardiac STABLE certification preferred
• Previous travel experience is a plus
• Must be comfortable with sterile technique and passing the SIMs lab on day one

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in NICU nursing and care of critically ill neonates
• Proficiency in Cerner electronic medical records
• Ability to interpret telemetry (Phillips) and understand ventilator management (RT-managed)
• Strong sterile technique and infection control practices
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment
