Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead as Charge Nurse in a dynamic ICU float pool across multiple hospitals in the Denver Zone 3 area
• Provide expert critical care to a diverse patient population including MICU, SICU, TICU, and CVICU patients
• Respond to codes and rapid responses throughout the facility, ensuring life-saving interventions
• Titrate critical drips including pressors, sedation, paralytics, antiarrhythmics, heparin, and insulin
• Interpret telemetry strips and manage ventilator settings, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
• Float to other acuity levels (PCU, stepdown, med-surg tele) as needed to support the team

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required (3+ years if first-time traveler)
• Prior Charge Nurse experience is mandatory
• Active RN license in Colorado or compact state
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required
• Comfortable with titrating all critical drips and interpreting telemetry independently
• Epic experience preferred; travel experience a plus
• Must live or obtain housing within 60 miles of Zone 3 facilities (Lakewood, Longmont, Westminster)

Knowledge & Skills

• Expert in critical care nursing: ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and telemetry
• Strong leadership and communication skills for charge nurse role
• Ability to adapt quickly to different units and patient populations
• Proficient in Epic EHR
• Knowledge of emergency response protocols and rapid response team dynamics
