Shift Type: 12-hour shifts with various start times (e.g., 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM, 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM, 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM, 2:00 PM - 2:00 AM), every other weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $76 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients with diverse conditions, including stroke, abdominal pain, orthopedic injuries, and pediatric emergencies
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, midlevels, and support staff in a fast-paced Level III trauma environment
Manage patient assignments of up to 4 patients depending on acuity, ensuring timely interventions and compassionate care
Utilize Cerner (First Net) EMR for accurate documentation and communication
Monitor telemetry strips with support from central monitor tech in ICU
Participate in charge nurse duties as needed, taking a small patient load when required

Qualifications

Active RN license in California
Minimum 3-5 years of ER nursing experience, preferably in a Level III trauma center or above
Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS required
Experience with Cerner EMR and telemetry monitoring preferred
Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including every other weekend and holidays as needed

Knowledge & Skills

Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills in emergency care
Proficiency in managing ventilators and interpreting telemetry strips
Ability to handle a high patient volume (approx. 100 visits/day) including pediatric patients (500-600/month)
Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment
