Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, direct nursing care to adolescents (ages 6–18) on an inpatient behavioral unit
• Administer medications safely and provide medication education to patients and families
• Accurately document patient care, assessments, and progress notes in a timely manner
• Monitor, manage, and de-escalate challenging behaviors while maintaining safety and therapeutic rapport
• Lead and facilitate group education sessions to support patient recovery and skill-building
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate day-to-day patient care and treatment planning
• Float to Chemical Dependency/Detox as needed to meet unit staffing and patient needs
• Model and maintain strong professional boundaries while supporting a therapeutic environment

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Nursing (required)
• Valid State of Maine RN license (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• CPI training (required)
• Minimum 1 year nursing experience required; 1–3 years experience working with adults preferred
• Experience in inpatient behavioral health or adolescent psychiatry preferred
• Willingness to float to Chemical Dependency/Detox units
• Must meet hiring eligibility: previous employees not accepted; travelers with background/license hits will not be accepted
• Maine residents must reside outside a 50 mile radius (per job requirement)

• Associates Degree in Nursing required
