Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist licensed Physical Therapists in delivering high-quality rehabilitative care to patients
• Implement treatment plans and therapeutic exercises as directed by the supervising PT
• Provide gait training, transfers, and mobility assistance to improve functional independence
• Monitor patient progress and accurately document treatment sessions and outcomes
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safe mobility techniques
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure cohesive, patient-centered care
• Maintain a safe treatment environment and adhere to facility protocols and infection control practices

Qualifications

• Certified Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) or completion of an accredited PTA program
• Current state PTA licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure for assignment
• Basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or ability to obtain upon hire
• Comfortable working a consistent daytime schedule, Monday through Friday
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with patients and clinical staff

Education

• Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant or graduation from an accredited PTA program

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in therapeutic exercise techniques, transfers, and gait training
• Familiarity with assistive devices and safe patient handling
• Solid clinical documentation skills and use of electronic health records
• Ability to follow treatment plans and modify activities under PT supervision
• Strong patient education and motivational coaching abilities
