Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the medical unit
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and on schedule
• Perform vital signs checks, basic assessments, and document findings clearly
• Collaborate with RNs, providers, and corrections staff to coordinate care
• Maintain infection control and safety standards in a correctional setting
• Report changes in patient condition promptly and participate in care planning
• Model reliability and strong attendance to support continuity of care

Qualifications

• Current California LVN license in good standing
• BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
• Previous clinical experience as an LVN; correctional or medical/surgical experience is a plus
• Demonstrated reliability and strong attendance record
• Ability to pass facility background checks and meet any site-specific screening

Education

• Completion of an accredited Vocational Nursing program (LVN)
• High school diploma or equivalent required

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication administration and documentation best practices
• Basic patient assessment and wound care
• Infection prevention and control procedures
• Clear, professional communication with patients and clinical teams
• Electronic medical record charting and accurate record keeping
• Ability to work calmly in a secure/correctional environment
