Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate basic nursing care and assistance with activities of daily living for assigned residents
• Assist with bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding, and mobility while preserving dignity and respect
• Take and record vital signs, report changes in condition to nursing staff promptly
• Maintain accurate documentation in resident charts and follow care plans and facility protocols
• Support a safe environment by following infection control and safety procedures
• Collaborate with nurses and multidisciplinary team members to deliver consistent, high-quality care
• Complete required training during the initial two-week orientation and apply learned procedures daily

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — CA certification required
• Current CPR/BLS certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
• Comfortable working the posted schedule: Sun–Thu, 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM
• Ability to complete a 2-week training/orientation period
• Willingness to work in a correctional facility setting and comply with facility screening requirements
• Strong communication skills, reliability, and a team-first attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Current CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of ADLs, basic patient care, and safe patient handling techniques
• Skill in taking and recording vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with infection control practices and PPE usage
• Good documentation skills and attention to detail
• Calm, respectful approach to working with diverse patient populations
