Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on a medical-surgical telemetry unit
• Monitor and interpret telemetry data, acting promptly on changes in patient condition
• Perform thorough assessments, develop care plans, and document interventions clearly
• Collaborate with physicians, ancillary staff, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care
• Administer medications and treatments safely and in accordance with protocols
• Educate patients and families to promote recovery and reduce readmissions

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Hawaii (required)
• Experience in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing (prior telemetry experience preferred)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable with 12-hour rotating shifts, both days and nights
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Medical-surgical nursing best practices and patient assessment
• Medication administration and IV therapy
• Electronic health record documentation
• Patient and family education techniques
• Time management and prioritization during high-acuity periods
