Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to residents/patients during assigned shifts
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely according to policy
• Monitor and document vital signs, changes in condition, and care provided in the electronic chart
• Collaborate with RN staff, physicians, and interdisciplinary team to support individualized care plans
• Assist with wound care, ADLs, and procedures within the LPN scope of practice
• Communicate clearly and empathetically with residents, families, and team members to ensure continuity of care
• Participate in shift handoffs and follow facility protocols for patient safety and infection control

Qualifications

• Current LPN license (practical nurse) — must be valid in New Mexico
• CPR/BLS certification required (or willing to obtain prior to start)
• Comfortable working the assigned Mon/Tue/Wed 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM schedule
• Local candidates only (this is a local contract assignment)
• Able to pass required background checks and health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered attitude

Education

• LPN diploma or vocational nursing certificate (or equivalent)

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication administration and documentation best practices
• Skilled in taking and interpreting vital signs and patient assessments
• Familiarity with charting in an electronic medical record (EMR)
• Basic wound care, ADL assistance, and resident-focused care techniques
• Good teamwork, time management, and prioritization under a busy shift
• Clear, compassionate communication with residents and families
