Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing needs using evidence-based tools
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve patient communication and safety
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, physicians and families to coordinate high-quality care
• Document patient progress clearly and timely in the electronic health record
• Provide education and training to family members and caregivers to support carryover
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and contribute to discharge planning

Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts SLP license or eligibility to obtain state licensure
• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology required
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
• Experience in adult rehabilitation, inpatient or outpatient settings is a plus
• Strong clinical assessment and dysphagia management skills
• Reliable professional demeanor, strong communication, and teamwork skills

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in standardized and informal speech and language assessments
• Experience with swallowing evaluations and treatment strategies
• Knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) options
• Comfortable with EHR documentation and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Strong rapport-building, patient/family education and time management skills

This is a travel contract position in Norwood, Massachusetts, a convenient home base for explorers.
