Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to residents and patients across the unit
• Assess and monitor patient conditions, documenting changes and escalating when needed
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and maintain meticulous documentation
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to implement individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families on care plans, medications, and safety measures
• Support admissions, discharges, and transfers while ensuring continuity of care
• Uphold infection control, safety protocols, and facility standards at all times
• Deliver warm, patient-centered care that respects dignity and promotes well-being

Qualifications

• Active LPN or RN license in Maine, or eligible for state licensure
• Current BLS/CPR certification required
• Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred
• Current immunizations, TB screening, background check, and drug screen as required by the facility
• Ability to work the posted schedule including weekends and dependably cover assigned shifts
• Travel credentials and paperwork up to date for a smooth onboarding process

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program for LPNs
• Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred for RNs
• BLS/CPR certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment skills and comfort with vital signs monitoring
• Safe medication administration and clear, timely documentation
• Proficiency with electronic health records and charting best practices
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time, and respond in fast-paced settings
• Excellent communication and teamwork to coordinate with clinical staff and families
• Basic wound care, infection control, and adherence to facility protocols
