Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding) with dignity and compassion
• Provide attentive bedside care and monitor residents for changes in condition, promptly reporting concerns to nursing staff
• Measure and document vital signs and other observations accurately and timely
• Support safe mobility and transfers, implementing fall prevention strategies
• Maintain infection control standards and ensure a clean, safe environment
• Communicate clearly and empathetically with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team
• Contribute to person-centered care plans and help preserve each resident's independence and quality of life

Qualifications

• Valid Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) or T-LNA certification (appropriate to practice in Vermont)
• Current CPR/BLS certification where required by facility policy
• Completion of an approved LNA training program and competency in direct resident care
• Proof of required immunizations and TB screening per facility guidelines
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required
• Physical ability to perform patient transfers and stand for the duration of the shift
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-focused attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED required; completion of an approved LNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic resident care
• Accurate vital sign collection and documentation skills
• Familiarity with electronic or paper charting and care documentation
• Understanding of infection prevention and safety protocols
• Compassionate interpersonal skills and the ability to support residents with respect
• Teamwork, time management, and the ability to prioritize resident needs
