Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one nursing care to an assigned kindergarten student with complex medical needs
• Administer inhalers and other prescribed medications according to the student’s care plan
• Monitor the student for respiratory distress and respond promptly to emergencies
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of health assessments, interventions, and medication administration
• Develop and follow individualized health care plans and communicate changes to school staff and caregivers
• Collaborate with teachers, school administrators, and families to support the student’s safety and participation
• Train and educate staff as needed on the student’s emergency plan and medication protocols
• Ensure compliance with school district policies, reporting, and required screenings

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• CPR/BLS certification (or willing to obtain upon hire)
• Experience or comfort providing one-to-one nursing care in pediatric or school settings
• Demonstrated skill administering inhalers and managing asthma emergencies
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with teachers, families, and school staff
• Ability to pass background checks and meet school district onboarding requirements

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program appropriate to LPN or RN licensure

• Inhaler and rescue medication administration
• Pediatric respiratory assessment and monitoring

• Accurate clinical documentation and charting
• Emergency response and basic life support
• Clear communication with multidisciplinary teams and families
