Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care to patients across the lifespan
• Triage and assess incoming patients quickly and accurately to prioritize care
• Administer medications and treatments safely following protocols and provider orders
• Collaborate with emergency physicians, techs, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Perform rapid clinical interventions and monitor patient responses closely
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient status clearly in the EMR
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge plans
• Contribute to a culture of safety by following policies, reporting concerns, and participating in continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California or eligible for licensure
• Prior emergency department experience preferred (per diem and acute care experience welcomed)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, triage, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with patients and team members
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in emergency nursing assessment and triage
• Comfortable with IV starts, medication administration, and urgent interventions
• Knowledge of common ED equipment and monitoring devices
• Skilled at clear, concise documentation in electronic medical records
• Excellent situational awareness, multitasking, and prioritization abilities
• Strong interpersonal skills for patient/family education and teamwork
