Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the licensed Physical Therapist in implementing individualized treatment plans
• Deliver therapeutic exercises, gait training, and functional mobility interventions with compassion
• Monitor and document patient progress accurately in the medical record
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safety strategies
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support discharge planning and goals
• Maintain treatment areas and equipment, ensuring a safe environment for patients
• Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies at all times

Qualifications

• Current or eligible Physical Therapist Assistant license for New Jersey
• Graduation from an accredited PTA program
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required
• Ability to work the scheduled days and maintain consistent attendance for the 14-week assignment
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach
• Previous experience in outpatient, orthopedic, or rehab settings preferred

Education

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with therapeutic exercise techniques and gait training
• Familiarity with modalities commonly used in physical therapy interventions
• Solid clinical documentation skills in electronic medical records
• Ability to assess patient mobility and implement appropriate interventions
• Strong teamwork, time management, and patient education abilities
• Knowledge of safety, infection control, and patient handling best practices
