Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess communication and swallowing function using evidence-based evaluations
• Develop individualized, measurable treatment plans that improve patient outcomes
• Implement therapy interventions and adapt techniques to each patient’s needs
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate holistic care
• Document progress clearly and timely to support continuity of care and discharge planning
• Educate patients, families and caregivers to promote carryover and functional gains

Qualifications

• Active California Speech-Language Pathology license or ability to obtain state licensure
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification or willingness to obtain
• Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills in speech, language and swallowing
• Comfort working in a fast-paced rehab/contract setting and collaborating with teams
• Ability to pass standard background check and required health screenings

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in dysphagia assessment and management
• Proficient in speech, language and cognitive-communication therapy techniques
• Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) strategies
• Strong clinical documentation and electronic health record skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills for patient and family education
• Ability to apply evidence-based practices and adapt care plans
