Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage cardiac devices: perform device interrogation and programming support using programmers
• Monitor and triage remote device transmissions to ensure timely follow-up
• Provide peri-operative and post-operative device care, including wound checks
• Collaborate with EP physicians, APPs, device techs and reps for optimal patient outcomes
• Document thoroughly in Cerner and use Contado for device management workflows
• Cover both outpatient clinic visits and inpatient peri-operative device needs as required
• Support patient education around implanted devices and remote monitoring processes

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license for Washington state (required)
• Certified Cardiac Device Specialist (CCDS) — required (manager may consider equivalent experience but CCDS is preferred)
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Minimum ~2 years of relevant experience with cardiac devices or similar device-focused nursing
• Hands-on experience interrogating devices and using device programmers
• Experience with device vendors: Boston Scientific, Medtronic, Abbott, Biotronik is a big plus
• Comfortable with remote monitoring workflows and outpatient clinic pacing
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR; Contado device management system experience desirable (training available)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills for multidisciplinary collaboration

Education

• Active RN license (required)
• Associate degree in Nursing or BSN — BSN preferred but not required
• Certified Cardiac Device Specialist (CCDS) certification required; CEPS preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Device interrogation and programmer operation
• Remote monitoring systems and trend interpretation
• Post-implant wound assessment and basic wound care
• Electronic charting in Cerner and device documentation in Contado
• Clinical judgment for adult and geriatric cardiac populations
• Ability to prioritize clinic visits, consults, and unexpected device alerts
• Professional collaboration with EP physicians, APPs, device techs and reps
