Roles & Responsibilities

• Scrub and monitor during a range of cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures, contributing directly to positive patient outcomes
• Assist with complex PCI, thrombectomy, stent placement, Impella and IABP cases, and left/right heart catheterizations
• Support structural heart procedures including TAVR and other advanced interventions when required
• Manage invasive lines and hemodynamic monitoring such as PA/Swan-Ganz lines and telemetry
• Provide peri-procedural patient assessment, sedation monitoring, and emergency response when needed
• Maintain accurate, timely charting in EPIC and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team
• Educate patients and families about procedures and post-procedure care to ensure safe transitions
• Participate in on-call coverage and support weekend rotations as scheduled

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the appropriate state or compact license eligibility
• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience (unit will accept first-time travel nurses)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Must have at least one: RCIS or ARRT certification
• Comfortable with call responsibilities, occasional floating to EP, and working in a fast-paced interventional environment
• Preferred: experience with EPIC charting and prior exposure to structural heart/TAVR cases

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in scrub and monitor roles in diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab settings
• Hands-on experience with PCI, balloon angioplasty, stents, thrombectomy, and Impella/IABP support
• Familiarity with left and right heart catheterization and pulmonary artery (Swan-Ganz) monitoring
• Ability to interpret rhythms and manage dysrhythmias during procedures
• Skilled in IV starts, conscious sedation monitoring, and circulate duties
• Experience with MAC Lab systems and EPIC electronic charting
• Understanding of sterile technique, isolation precautions, and procedural sedation protocols
