Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to laboring and postpartum patients
• Monitor fetal heart tracings and maternal status using Fetal Heart Monitoring technology
• Perform neonatal resuscitation (NRP) when required to ensure newborn safety
• Maintain readiness in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
• Complete accurate documentation and participate in Trinity Skills and specialty competency testing
• Support patient education and family-centered care during labor, delivery, and postpartum

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with ability to pass License/Certificate Verification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required
• AWHONN and Fetal Heart Monitoring certification required
• Successful completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Current required health screenings and immunizations per facility policy (Fit Test, Tdap, COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, 2-step PPD or IGRA, Varicella, physical, and drug screen)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in fetal heart monitoring and interpretation
• Skilled in neonatal resuscitation and newborn care
• Strong maternal assessment and labor support skills
• Familiarity with ACLS and emergency response procedures
• Good clinical documentation and electronic medical record use
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient education abilities
• Ability to pass and maintain unit-specific competencies and checklists
