Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care following facility policies and nursing best practices
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately within your scope
- Monitor patient condition and communicate changes clearly to the care team
- Document care timely and thoroughly to support continuity and compliance
- Assist with patient hygiene, mobility, and comfort while promoting dignity
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to create and implement care plans
- Support discharge planning and patient education to help patients return home confidently
Qualifications
- Current LPN license in good standing (Licensed Practical Nurse). Candidates who are Registered Nurses may also be considered depending on unit needs
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications welcomed
- Active, unrestricted license to practice in the state of Maine or ability to obtain state licensure
- Clinical experience in long-term care or medical-surgical settings is a plus
- Professional, patient-centered communication skills and a team-first attitude
Education
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program (LPN) or an accredited nursing program for RNs
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong medication administration and documentation skills
- Familiarity with common nursing assessments and vital sign monitoring
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Comfortable using electronic health records for charting and orders
- Good teamwork, critical thinking, and patient advocacy abilities
