Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care during overnight shifts
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
- Perform thorough assessments and communicate changes in patient condition to the care team
- Document care and observations in the electronic medical record in a timely manner
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care plans
- Support patient and family education and provide reassurance during transitions
- Maintain a safe environment by following infection control and facility policies
Qualifications
- Active LPN or RN license (able to work in New Mexico or hold a compact multistate license if applicable)
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Up-to-date immunizations and health screening per facility policy
- Prior acute care or long-term care clinical experience preferred
- Travel-ready mindset with ability to adapt quickly to new teams and protocols
Education
- LPN: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program (diploma or certificate)
- RN: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) depending on role
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical assessment and medication administration skills
- Comfortable with overnight patient monitoring and escalation processes
- Proficient documentation skills in electronic medical records
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and remain calm under pressure
- Basic familiarity with infection prevention and wound care principles
