Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough decontamination of surgical instruments and devices to ensure patient safety
• Execute sterilization and high level disinfection (HLD) processes using Steris, VPro, and Medivator equipment
• Assemble instrument sets accurately and efficiently for a variety of trauma and OR procedures
• Document sterilization cycles and instrument tracking in EPIC and unit logs
• Participate in unit orientation and preceptor-guided training to maintain high standards
• Collaborate with OR and clinical teams to prioritize instrument turnaround for urgent cases

Qualifications

• CRCST or CBSPD certification required
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Sterile Processing/Central Service experience
• Familiarity with Steris, VPro, and Medivator systems
• Experience with EPIC charting preferred
• Valid driver’s license (DL must be submitted)
• Able to complete orientation week in-state; comfortable with 1-2 preceptor shifts

• Sterile Processing and Central Service best practices
• Decontamination, sterilization, and High Level Disinfection (HLD)
• Instrument assembly and set preparation for trauma and OR cases
• Operation and troubleshooting of Steris, VPro, and Medivator equipment
• Charting and documentation in EPIC
• Acute care and OR environment awareness, including trauma case workflows
