Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, cognition, voice, and swallowing disorders with evidence-based care
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that drive patient progress
- Document patient evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately and promptly
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, physicians, and family members to coordinate holistic care
- Provide education and training to patients, families, and staff to support carryover and safety
- Participate in team meetings and quality improvement initiatives to enhance program outcomes
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (or equivalent) required
- Valid Massachusetts SLP license required or active steps toward licensure
- ASHA CCC-SLP strongly preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience in medical or rehabilitation settings preferred, especially with adult populations
- Strong clinical reasoning, documentation skills, and a team-oriented mindset
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of dysphagia assessment and management
- Experience with language, articulation, cognitive-communication and voice disorders
- Familiarity with standardized and functional assessment tools
- Excellent interpersonal and patient education skills
- Comfortable using electronic medical records and producing clear clinical documentation
- Ability to collaborate effectively in an interdisciplinary rehab environment
