Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate patient care in the CVN (cardiovascular) care area with attention to detail
• Assess and monitor patients, recognizing and responding to changes in condition quickly
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document thoroughly
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and execute patient-centered care plans
• Perform telemetry and cardiac monitoring, intervene per unit protocols, and escalate concerns when needed
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans to support recovery
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the medical record and participate in quality improvement initiatives
• Serve as a reliable team player who mentors peers and contributes to a positive unit culture

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license (PA licensure expected; out-of-state travel RNs welcome if able to obtain PA authorization)
• Experience or interest in CVN/cardiovascular nursing or acute care settings
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
• Strong clinical assessment skills, critical thinking, and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced unit
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; dependable and professional

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation
• Medication administration and IV therapy competence
• Accurate patient assessment and clinical decision-making
• Clear, concise documentation and charting habits
• Comfortable collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and escalating concerns appropriately
• Time management, organization, and the ability to handle multiple priorities
