Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patients and develop individualized treatment plans to improve communication and swallowing
- Deliver evidence-based speech, language and cognitive therapy with compassion and clinical precision
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses and therapists to coordinate patient care and goals
- Document progress and outcomes clearly and timely to support continuity of care
- Provide family and caregiver education to maximize carryover and functional gains
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field (required)
- State license in Speech-Language Pathology or eligible to obtain New Jersey licensure
- ASHA CCC-SLP preferred or working toward certification
- Experience in inpatient or rehabilitative settings preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification as required by facility
- Ability to pass background check and meet facility onboarding requirements
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (or equivalent degree)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in standardized and functional assessment for speech, language and swallowing
- Experience with dysphagia management and safe swallowing techniques
- Strong documentation and care-plan writing skills
- Ability to collaborate in interdisciplinary teams and communicate with families
- Familiarity with assistive technology and augmentative communication strategies
- Comfortable with caseload management and prioritizing clinical needs
