Roles & Responsibilities
- Process and accurately fill central-fill pharmacy orders with attention to detail
- Prepare, label, and package medications according to facility and regulatory guidelines
- Assist pharmacists with order verification tasks and workflow efficiencies
- Maintain accurate inventory records and manage stock replenishment
- Adhere to safety, sterility, and compliance protocols to protect patients
- Communicate clearly with clinical teams and support timely medication delivery
- Participate in quality improvement efforts to enhance pharmacy operations
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician or in a central fill environment preferred
- State Pharmacy Technician registration or licensure as required by California
- Pharmacy technician certification (PTCB/CPhT) preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced setting
- Familiarity with pharmacy workflows, labeling standards, and medication handling
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads as needed
- Excellent communication skills and a teamwork-oriented mindset
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician program or on-the-job training preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of medication names, dosing, and common pharmacy abbreviations
- Familiarity with pharmacy dispensing software and barcode scanning systems
- Understanding of inventory management and cycle counting procedures
- Competence with sterile and non-sterile handling procedures where applicable
- Strong organizational skills and accuracy in data entry
- Awareness of HIPAA and patient privacy best practices
