Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide advanced respiratory care and ventilator management for critically ill adult and pediatric ICU patients
• Perform thorough respiratory assessments and create treatment plans that improve patient outcomes
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care, escalate concerns, and support complex cases
• Chart accurately and promptly in Epic to ensure continuity of care and clear communication
• Float between like units as needed to support patient loads and maintain staffing coverage
• Respond to emergencies and rapid clinical changes with calm, skilled interventions
• Support family education and provide compassionate bedside communication during critical moments
• Adhere to infection control policies and facility guidelines, including required flu vaccination

Qualifications

• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential — active state licensure required (pending licenses are not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical respiratory therapy experience (ICU experience preferred)
• Comfortable working with both adult and pediatric ICU patients
• Experience charting in Epic or willingness to adapt quickly to Epic charting workflows
• Ability to work night shifts, every-other-weekend coverage, and float between units
• Flu vaccine required per facility guideline (medical/religious exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care and ventilator management skills
• Familiarity with ICU protocols and pediatric respiratory care
• Proficiency or comfort with Epic electronic charting
• Effective communication and teamwork in high-acuity settings
• Ability to prioritize and respond rapidly in emergency situations
• Flexibility to float between like units and adapt to changing patient needs
