Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac telemetry continuously and interpret dysrhythmias to keep patients safe
• Manage acute dysrhythmias and participate actively in Rapid Response and Code teams
• Provide intravenous therapy and manage blood product administration with precision
• Document thoroughly and accurately in Epic to ensure clear patient records
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (RT, PT, Pharmacy, Social Work) for coordinated care
• Perform post-procedure and post-cardiac cath care, including TR band and pacemaker management
• Assess and manage respiratory supports such as BiPAP/CPAP and HFNC when needed
• Educate patients and families about cardiac conditions, medications, and discharge plans

Qualifications

• Active RN license (NC preferred) — pending licenses are not accepted
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in MS/Telemetry (first-time travelers accepted)
• Current BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS required
• Comfort with telemetry ratios (typical night ratio 1:5-6) and experience in cardiac monitoring
• Ability and willingness to float to like units within scope to meet facility needs
• Ability to work every-other-weekend and adhere to facility return staff/contract limits

Education

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required
• ADN or BSN (BSN preferred) — facility values formal nursing education

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry skills: cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Epic charting experience for accurate electronic documentation
• IV therapy, central line/PICC management, phlebotomy and blood product administration
• Familiarity with post-cardiac cath care, pacemaker monitoring, and TR band management
• Respiratory skills: BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation, tracheostomy care
• Wound care, feeding tube management, CBI and pre/post hemodialysis awareness
• Comfort participating in Rapid Response/Code teams and emergency cardiac interventions
• Strong communication and patient education skills; teamwork and interdisciplinary collaboration
