Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide advanced respiratory care for critically ill adults and pediatric patients in the ICU
• Manage ventilators and perform respiratory therapies within your scope of practice
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Epic
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and allied health staff to develop and adjust care plans
• Float between like units as needed to support patient care and staffing
• Participate in weekend and holiday coverage per schedule and facility policy
• Adhere to facility infection control and vaccination policies, including required flu vaccine (medical/religious exemptions allowed)

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• Minimum 2 years clinical respiratory care experience
• Prior ICU experience with adults and pediatrics (comfortable working with both age groups)
• Familiarity with Epic charting (experience preferred)
• Active state respiratory care license required (pending licenses are not accepted)
• Able to work night shifts and every-other-weekend rotation
• Willingness to float within scope to other like units as needed

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential

Knowledge & Skills

• ICU respiratory care for adult and pediatric populations
• Clinical comfort with pediatric patients in critical care settings
• Experience documenting care in Epic
• Ability to adapt to night shift workflows and changing patient needs
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate across disciplines
• Good clinical judgment for ventilator management and respiratory interventions

This is a travel contract assignment centered around Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Explore the scenic Cape Fear River Trail for walking, running or biking, and visit the Airborne & Special Operations Museum for local military history. Enjoy historic downtown Fayetteville with its Market House, local breweries and restaurants. For weekend escapes, Fort Liberty is nearby for events and history, Raleigh is about an hour away for museums and city attractions, and the Carolina coast (Wilmington, local beaches) is a doable day trip for sand and surf.
