Shift Type: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), schedule posted every 6 weeks; every other weekend and holidays as needed (night)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality labor and delivery care for high-risk patients in a fast-paced, high-acuity unit
- Function as the Baby Nurse during deliveries and provide immediate newborn care and assessments until transfer to postpartum
- Circulate for C-sections as a hands-on surgical support role in the OR
- Perform continuous fetal monitoring, recognize and respond to abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
- Administer and monitor critical medications including magnesium sulfate, insulin drips, and anticoagulation therapies
- Start and maintain IVs, assist with pain management modalities including PCA and nitrous oxide support
- Document thoroughly in EPIC and maintain accurate, timely charting
- Provide postpartum support including breastfeeding/lactation assistance and wound/fundus assessments
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Respiratory, Pharmacy, Radiology, and Social Services for coordinated care
- Participate in unit staffing that follows AWHONN guidelines and support rapid response when needed
Qualifications
- Current RN licensure (WA accepted; active compact license recognized by Swedish facilities)
- Minimum 3-5 years of Labor & Delivery experience in high-risk, high-acuity settings (3 years required; 5 years highly preferred)
- Previous travel RN experience required; unit does not accept first-time travelers
- Required certifications: BLS and NRP (proof required at submission)
- Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced or Intermediate
- Must provide current supervisory references and proof of NURSYS verification
- Experience circulating for C-section and serving as Baby Nurse (newborn eyes, Vit K, thigh injections, newborn assessments) is a hard requirement
- Comfortable floating to postpartum/antepartum and between sister campuses
Knowledge & Skills
- Electronic charting and EPIC proficiency, including EPIC fetal monitoring
- Neonatal Resuscitation and newborn thermoregulation/assessment
- External fetal monitoring and interpretation of fetal heart rate patterns
- High-risk L&D management including hemorrhage, recovery from C-section, forceps/vacuum support
- Medication administration: magnesium sulfate, insulin drips, heparin, pitocin, terbutaline
- IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Comfort with epidural anesthesia, PCA use, and pain management techniques
- Breastfeeding/lactation support and postpartum patient care
