Candidate Pay Rate: $83 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Coordinate and deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care across Med/Surg, ED and ICU
- Perform thorough nursing assessments and maintain accurate, timely documentation
- Administer medications and therapeutics safely and according to policy
- Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies; implement life-saving interventions when required
- Delegate and supervise CNA/Tech staff while ensuring quality patient care
- Float between units as needed, adapting priorities based on patient acuity
- Educate patients and families—explain procedures, discharge plans, and self-care clearly
- Participate in unit improvement activities, in-services, and multidisciplinary care planning
Qualifications
- Active, current, full and unrestricted RN license in the State of Alaska (required)
- BLS, ACLS and PALS required on hire
- Flu vaccine required (must have or obtain)
- Two fingerprint cards required upon acceptance
- Willingness to work both day and night shifts and to float between Med/Surg, ED and ICU
- One year of clinical nursing experience preferred
- Prior experience in specialty areas (ED/ICU) preferred; TNCC/ATCN and NRP within first 6 months if applicable
- Comfort with medication administration, documentation, delegation, and emergency response
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Education required to obtain an RN license in Alaska (e.g., ADN/ASN or BSN) — valid RN licensure required
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in patient assessment and the full nursing process (assess, plan, implement, evaluate)
- Strong medication administration and management skills
- Infection control practices and safe handling of infectious patients
- Experience with monitoring/critical care equipment and ventilators
- Skills assisting with procedures such as intubation, arterial lines, ABG, thoracentesis
- Able to lead, delegate and provide supportive supervision to CNA/Tech staff
- Clear oral and written communication; effective interdisciplinary collaboration
