Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, culturally sensitive oncology infusion nursing care using the nursing process
• Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care in collaboration with the care team
• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy and other prescribed medications safely and in compliance with policy and state practice acts
• Monitor patients during infusion, manage side effects, and escalate concerns promptly to the appropriate provider
• Complete accurate, timely documentation to reflect assessments, interventions and patient education
• Deliver clear, empathetic patient and family education about treatments, side effects and self-care
• Participate in unit performance improvement, shared governance and evidence-based practice initiatives
• Support clinic flow by responding to telephone triage, coordinating care, and occasionally floating to other units as needed

Qualifications

• WI RN or Compact RN License (required)
• BLS/CPR certification (required)
• ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certification (required)
• Experience administering oncology infusions, chemotherapy and immunotherapy
• Comfortable with IV/infusion therapy, medication administration and patient assessment
• Ability to float to other units based on clinical competency and staffing needs
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach
