Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality general ultrasound exams, including OB/GYN studies, to support accurate diagnoses
• Conduct vascular exams and collaborate with radiologists on findings
• Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment (Phillips EPIQ) and ensure room readiness across three scanners
• Document exams and patient data accurately using Cerner/PACS for timely reporting
• Provide compassionate patient care and clear communication before, during, and after procedures
• Participate in call rotations and occasional weekend/holiday coverage as scheduled
• Support departmental workflow by assisting with triage, patient prep, and efficient throughput (average 8–16 studies/day)

Qualifications

• RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) required
• RDMS-OB/GYN (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer — OB/GYN) verification required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) / Vascular Technology preferred
• Minimum 1 year of sonography experience (per job details)
• Comfortable working evening shifts, call responsibilities, and occasional weekend rotation
• Experience charting in Cerner and familiarity with PACS workflows preferred
• Ability to operate Phillips EPIQ or similar ultrasound systems

Education

• Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program is preferred
• Certification: RDMS required (with RDMS-OB/GYN verification)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong skills in general ultrasound imaging, OB/GYN sonography, and vascular exams
• Familiarity with Cerner charting system and PACS workflows
• Experience with Phillips EPIQ (or similar) ultrasound equipment
• Excellent patient care, communication, and bedside manner
• Ability to manage workflow efficiently in a busy acute care setting
• Detail-oriented image acquisition and documentation for accurate interpretation
